Milton Keynes 4×4 was founded in 1995 to provide a meeting place for people with an interest in 4×4 Fun Days. The club is named after the town, which is located in Buckinghamshire, England. Since then the club has matured to provide a forum for off road motorsport (particularly non-competitive activities) in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
Membership entitles you to attend club nights, to participate in club organised events and to receive and advertise in the club newsletter. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to join, with both individual and family membership options available. Club Nights are held monthly, providing the primary focus for club members to meet socially, have a drink and chat about 4×4 vehicles.
Newsletters are issued at each club night, and posted out for those members unable to attend. The newsletter includes articles from recent club events, general snippets of 4×4 news, an events calendar, fun and humour and of course a ‘For Sale and Wanted’ section.
Events include both social events for members and their families to enjoy, and off-road activities, for members to learn and apply the skills needed to get the best from their 4×4. These include our training weekend, green laning, navigational events, treasure hunts, camping events and overseas expeditions. Sometimes we organize friendly races, but without betting. If you are a sports gambler our club isn’t for you, we’re not one of the best betting sites.
Annual membership costs £15 for an individual or £20 for a family. Full membership runs from March through to the following February, if you join later in the year then the fee is reduced pro-rata on a quartely basis. The club rules and conditions are written on the application form.
The MK4x4 newsletter ‘Keyne Torque’ is published every month and distributed to all members, by hand at the club nights and by post if you are unable to attend. Contributed articles are always welcome on any 4×4 related subject. Indeed, members are encouraged to share their experiences and exploits, good or bad ! Please forward your text and / or pictures to the Editor. We don’t publish betting articles, but you can go to a site for online slots at real money casinos.
For the winter and early spring session, the Milton Keynes 4×4 Soccer Club participates in indoor training activities (at the indoor soccer center in Essex, VT). These sessions are usually held one day per week, and usually last one hour. A number of teams are trained under the guidance of Roy Patton, head coach at the University of Vermont (UVM). In addition, many teams participate in indoor leagues. If you want to read more about our community – click here.
Once the weather permits, training sessions commence outdoors at the many fields in the area. Training sessions are usually held two to three times per week. Each training session usually lasts from 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. It is very common for Milton Keynes 4?4 Spirit Teams to have scrimmage games with each other. There are also times when scrimmage games are scheduled with teams from other local soccer clubs. Scrimmages are also scheduled with teams from Southern Vermont, Canada, and New Hampshire.
New for 1999 is the addition of the Milton Keynes 4×4 Spirit Soccer Academy which will be held at UVM from June 22 – June 26 (under the direction of Roy Patton). This camp is available to Milton Keynes 4?4 Spirit Members only. Roy will be utilizing coaches from Milton Keynes 4?4 Spirit as well as importing talent from abroad. The beauty of this camp is that it allows our player the opportunity to receive intensive training and experiences with players of their own caliber, something they rarely experience at other soccer camps.
The newsletter is produced as an A5 booklet of typically 20 pages and includes articles describing recent club events, technical articles and general information as well as ‘For Sales’ and sponsored adverts. Adverts for members are free, if you would like to place a trade advert then contact the Editor for more information.
