Social Events
Green Laning Using Ordnance Survey maps and locally researched knowledge. Navigating using a mixture of tarmac, white roads and unsurfaced vehicular rights of way. The club organises a variety of events including both weekend and single day journeys as demand requires. In most cases we try to facilitate events, bringing together like minded members, and providing information and advice as necessary.
Training Weekend Held off-road on private land, giving you the opportunity to benefit from the more experienced members. Teaching you the basics and allowing practice in a safe and controlled environment. All skill levels catered for. This is a very popular weekend, combining some off-road practice and an evening social.
Navigational Events Held on the public highway. A test of navigational skills to sort out a route with check-points along the way. Limited to a maximum of twelve vehicles normally held on Friday or Saturday evenings lasting about four hours.
4×4 Shows A great time to socialise. Members of the club frequently attend the major Land Rover and all marque 4×4 shows. Where possible we always try to have a club stand.
Expeditions Well not to the Himalaya’s or across Africa yet. But groups of members have travelled to many countries in Europe and as far afield as Morocco. If you are interested in travelling beyond the shores of the UK then the club is an excellent place to meet like minded individuals.
Club Nights
Every member is entitled to attend the monthly social meeting. An opportunity to meet and chat in an informal atmosphere about all things 4×4 or not. The club nights are the best way to meet others with similar interests and views, both for socialising and coordinating attendance at events.
Our club nights are social affairs though we do, on occasion, organise something more formal. In recent years these have included visiting speaker, a car boot sale, fun quizzes (Christmas quiz, MOT quiz !), 4×4 Videos and Table Top Navigation.
Monthly meetings start at 20:00 on the first Tuesday of each month at the Herald Sporting Club, McConnel Drive, Stacey Bushes, Milton Keynes (01908) 311766.
Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to attend. If this is your first visit then ask to be introduced to a committee member and they will make you welcome.
